I'm fine, thanks.

Poor old neglected blog. Im so sorry. But all my followers already know what goes on in my daily life. So I guess *sniff* this is good bye. Im not a great typer and I pretty much just say what I have to say out loud or in person. So come talk to me in person. Or over the phone. I may be back, but possibly not. But, I'm fine, really. Because thats what people want to hear. But, no. Seriously. I'm pretty well. Thanks for asking.

Silence Before the Storm or Oh Crap

Hurricane Irene has hit NewYork City! Yesterday was silent. No one was on the streets, there were hardly any cars out. Practically all the stores were closed and the only ones open were little supermarkets and convenient stores, but they were open so that any panicky person could get their last minute supplies and food for the upcoming storm. It was quiet. It rained on and off yesterday, but It never rained really hard. At night Irene comes for a visit. There's lightning and it is pouring! Thankfully the winds were minimal. I woke up in the morning and my dad told me that Hurricane Irene is no longer considered a hurricane. Its just a tropical storm. Big Whop. There goes all the excitement. It stopped raining before noon.

Something cool that I did yesterday, was that between the little rain showers,  my dad and I took a walk. On this walk we passed a 9/11 memorial of a bunch of tiles people painted and hung op with wires on this metal fence in Greenwich village. There were people there taking down all the tiles to help save them from the hurricane, the destruction of the building they were outside of and to move them to the New World Trade Center. We stopped to help them. As this went on, more and more people stopped to help. It wasn't really an organized group of people doing this, it was just people taking a walk while they could. It was amazing that we took down hundreds of tiles in so little time. Some guy who stopped to help said that he had made one of those tiles. It was a really neat experience.

I'm sorry I didn't post a picture for your thoughts last time, so here is one now:

NEW FREAKING YORK BABY

I have just moved to New York for 3 months! It is beautiful here. You can see the Empire state building from my apartment and at night, to see all of the lights, its amazing! I went to see Chelsea Market which was really cool, then my mom, dad and I wend and ate really, really good popsicles on the High Line. Today my dad and I went to MoMA, which is this really cool modern art museum, and we saw an exhibit about... plywood. It was really cool! There were lots of chairs and there apparently was a guy who built his house out of plywood, but that didn't work all that well because it rotted out really quickly. I'm a bostonian living in New York so I cant really show my red sox pride in public, so my grand ma sent me a red sox blanket! It is really soft and well, red soxy.
That is all for now!

Italia and the Berkshires

I havent posted anything for several weeks because I was in ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was awesome! One of the best meals I have ever eaten was in Florence at a restaurant called Acquacotta and it was fabulous! Also I have been in the Berkshires visting Clark, whose blog you should really visit. It was awesome! We went swimming lots, we visited cool towns such as Lenox and Great Barrington. In Great Barrington we went to this candy store called "Robin's" which has lots of candy and in the very back of the store, there is a ton of oddly scented perfumes, some of the worst being mildew, cappuccino, etc. Most of them smelled bad, but there were two which smelled good, honeydew melon and pink lemonade.  Today I had an Italian cooking class and we made polenta and risotto and chicken and these orange almond and chocolate ganache cookies. YUM! Please I would like some followers, so if you read this blog leave a comment and join me! Sorry this post is short.  Here is a picture for your thoughts:

Vacation- Both a YAY! and an Urgh.

You don't know how thrilled I am have gottent a break from school this week! I must do my vacation happy dance! Its vacation, its vacation, excited for vacation do do dooooo do dooooo do DOOOO!!!!!!!! This Monday morning, my dad woke me up at about 7:20 AM and told me that I had to get ready for school. Not really yet awake, I told him that it was vacation, then I went back to sleep until 9 AM. That is one of the better aspects of this vacation, I get to sleep in. A less exciting part was that I could only eat foods which were kosher for passover. It's not that bad, but after seven or eight days, you get REALLY sick of having matzo with almost every meal. The one thing that I almost did this vacation is see the  Chihuly exhibit at the MFA. My family, a friend and I got there and the wait was almost an hour long, plus they were closing early that day, so we decided that we would go around the museum and look at some of the other stuff, like the new wing. It was a lot of fun. Those are my insights on this vacation!

P.S. The Dale Chihuly exhibit  looks really amazing. It's all glass!

DANCE ON!

Over the weekend I went to the Big Apple Circus with my family and some family friends. This year the theme was "Dance On" and the acts were pretty great and not quite like any other performances I have ever seen. There were some contortionists ( who could bend so that their butts touched their own heads), there was a juggler dude who did this really cool thing with bouncy balls and plexiglass, there were these guys who made climbing up a giant pole look profoundly fun, there is always grandma and some other acts, but one of the most... well, interesting were the animals. They put goats on horses. Just watch. Please disregard the small child, however cute she may be.

Ridiculous, no?

Aside from the circus, another reason this post is titled "dance on", is because I have a few words of advice for you. If you are doing the proper dance to Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair", NEVER WHIP YOUR HAIR FOR THE WHOLE SONG. Trust me, it will spare you the pain. But, for your dancing purposes, here it is!

That is all, for now!
